Marty Robbins 1925-1982, was a famed country and rockabilly musician, as well as being a NASCAR driver. Robbins was born near Glendale, Arizona and would live most of his early life in the Phoenix-metropolitan area. In 1953, shortly after his signing with Colombia Records, he left to follow his career in Nashville, Tennessee. He found success in the 1950s with hits like “El Paso.” He would stay a chart topper till his death; with 16 #1 records in the country charts. In 1982 he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville.
