Ray Odom wouldn’t move to Arizona till 1951, however he left a permanent mark on local Arizona country and rock. Ray Odom would serve as one of Arizona’s most important concert promoters. He would be an essential promoter for venues such as the Phoenix Madison Square Garden, and Riverside Park Ballroom. He would also become one of Arizona’s most important figures in radio, after hosting his Saturday show at KRUX, in 1955 he co-established Arizona’s first exclusively country radio station, KHEP.
